Research program

Medical students represent diverse backgrounds. Each student is on his/her individual path to what will result in a unique piece of the professional global health map. Our mission is to foster this uniqueness while, at the same time, following the more rigid and structured clinical research guidelines.

There is a lack of opportunities in the research field, especially for medical students, which hinders their ability to publish articles in international journals. This puts the students and graduates at a significant disadvantage compared with their counterparts in other countries who get to regularly participate in research papers. Consequently, our company has created the Research Mentorship Program.

Our research program is based on the concept of mentored longitudinal learning in parallel research enrichment tracks. The research preparation program is structured on three solid foundations:

  • Promoting student individuality
  • Development of ongoing research projects
  • Small group mentorship & collaboration

Research tracks will be established for topics based on student preference and allocation, with 10-15 students assigned to a single group.  Each group will have at least one faculty mentor and the group will function as a unit throughout their research training. This will not only enhance students’ knowledge and skills in particular areas of research interest but will also enhance both their overall research capabilities and interest in pursuing research careers.

Areas of activity for the group include:

  • Promoting the topic of interest within the class and the university
  • Designing research projects that may serve as a basis for publications
  • Regular meetings as determined by the group
  • Structured mentorship program
  • Upon successful completion of the research program, graduates of the program will receive letters of recommendation from their senior research mentors based in the US showcasing the graduate's potential to join a renowned research university program.

This Research Mentorship Program is an exciting and unique opportunity for medical students seeking residency in the US. Over 20 weeks, students will have a crash course to learn about research and publications, and they will be paired with an expert mentor for a 20-week collaboration based on mutual research interests. The outcomes are developing students' research knowledge and skills and submission of at least one research paper to a peer-reviewed journal.
